March is Youth Art Appreciation Month, which promotes art and art education in the United States.  Hillside celebrates Youth Art Appreciation Month by hosting our very own Art Appreciation Week.  During this week students have to opportunity to learn about famous artists, learn new art styles and participate in an art project.

This year’s Art Appreciation Week is March 12th-16th.

This year’s Art Appreciation project’s inspiration comes from the book Only One You, which we turned into a school beautification project.  The students will have the book read to them, discuss the themes of the story, then paint a rock in their own unique way.  We will take these rocks, and turn them into a beautiful rock garden.
